Tree has been with us for one week. I first met her this past fall at Southland's adoption kennel. If you love petite, pretty greyhound girls-as I do- you must see this little one.
She's a beautiful fawn girl with a dark mask, very petite, but with wonderful form. Our first impressions are that she is very sweet, very bright, and eager to learn all about being a pet. She loves her crate and for most of this week that has been her "safe haven". She spends a lot of time there on her own and seems quite happy. Today she discovered that the dog beds scattered throughout the house are good places to be, too, and is laying on one right now as I write this. She has had no accidents in the house and will go to the door when she needs to go outside. The weather has been too chilly for long walks so I don't know if she'll "go" on a leash yet but today we went for a short walk and she was a perfect lady; no pulling and no skittishness over new surroundings and sounds. She is fine with our two greyhounds and our two smaller dogs in the house and in the yard. She is interested in our two cats so we are keeping close supervision but so far we think it is more curiosity than anything else. Although she does well with our gang she isn't clingy so I think she may do well as an only dog. She sleeps like a champ through the night as long as she is in her crate. And dinner-time is very exciting; initially she wasn't eating everything but now is cleaning her plate. She has done something very cute with Warren and me. She likes to steal a bedroom slipper and take it into her crate and sleep with her head on it. She's done this with both of us and it is very sweet. And today she also discovered how to squeak the stuffy we got for her. Squeak, squeak!
Tree will be at the Murfreesboro M&G tomorrow so if you are interested please join us and meet this lovely girl!
